FZD GRADUATES
"FZD was definitely the most challenging educational experience I ever committed to, but I can also say that it proved to be the most effective.
When you study at FZD, you get to see true industry leaders at work - and you also learn how much commitment, discipline, and passion it takes to succeed at that level. Like anything worthwhile, it doesn't happen overnight. But with the right frame of mind and a willingness to improve, the school's regimented curriculum definitely makes it possible to excel at an alarming rate. Some of the best advice I ever received was the simple creed: "Just do more". It felt overwhelming and nearly unattainable then...but it all makes perfect sense now.
FZD gave me a better understanding of how to present my work and more importantly, how to present myself. Talented classmates and peers pushed me to excel in an extremely competitive environment, and the insightful lecture series taught me how to approach creative and technical problems from fresh angles, offering up multiple solutions.
Again - this is a serious program, requiring serious commitment, you got to want this - but if you're ready to devote yourself to the work, the rewards will surely come...both personally, and professionally."

"FZD School of Design is not the right school for everyone and definitely one of the hardest. That might sound negative but really isn't. Studying here just requires the right mindset - dedication, discipline and professionalism - and please leave your ego at home. With that it can make a big difference in your life. If you are willing to work hard, the Art Directors will help you bring your skills to a much higher level than you could by doing this on your own. The knowledge, pressure and discipline provided will for sure prepare you for your professional career. Choose wisely, be humble and give it your all and you will be rewarded."

"The one year in FZD was short but I learnt a great deal and it was really a fruitful period of my life. I used to paint without a clear understanding. However, in FZD I built my foundation right from scratch, reformat the way I look at things and string up all my knowledge from different area together. This really helps and it opens up a lot of possibilities for my design. The Art Directors were willing to share and impart their knowledge to the Students. This is very valuable as I could see and relate how the professionals work in the industry and it is really inspiring! The School’s curriculum was very demanding and stressful. However, with hard work and guidance from the Art Directors, the end result is very fulfilling. FZD is definitely a good school to consider if you have serious interest in doing concept work. Thank you Feng, Kingston and Tze Wei for letting me grow so much in a year!"

"The skills I learnt in FZD School have helped me to develop a better understanding of design. It also enabled me to improve my technical skills.
I deeply appreciate the dedication and passion that the lecturers had in teaching and guiding us. If I didn't join FZD, I doubt I can get my current job as a Concept Designer at Zealot Digital. Not to mention the Admin staffs who made the whole environment friendly and pleasant to study in too. I would like to thank the lecturers for being so patient with us all the time and for pushing us to achieve what we thought was impossible. Even until now, after I graduated, I would drop by at FZD for inspiration and to catch up with the nice people there. The skills that I have gained throughout the year of my study are very applicable to my current job scope, which is to design and illustrate out the environmental concepts for Zealot Digital. At times I feel very blessed and fortunate to get this job, so I owe FZD and the people there BIG TIME! It's a life changing experience for me, so joining FZD is one of the best decisions I made in my life. Thank you guys who helped me in one way or another, I won't be able to get to where I am now without your help."

"Fundamentals such as perspective and foreshortening definitely help me to take the guesswork out of drawing difficult subjects. I learned how to apply good design-thinking and process, as well as design-presentation skills. At the same time I was gaining the insights on production requirements of various entertainment media. The range of subject-matters attempted has instilled confidence in me to be able to attempt various design jobs. Portfolio produced during the course of training was crucial for us in finding employment opportunity. Work ethic and presentation skills being developed during course have also served to ease transition into work-life."

CERTIFICATE COURSE STUDENTS
“I knew from the start that going through this course will change my mind. First of all, I am always longing to upgrade my skills in design and I came to the right place. During the 6 weeks course of Dynamic Sketching, Tze Wei taught us a lot about fundamentals in design that most of us have missed. I used to think that design is art, but it is totally different. It really opened my eyes and realized that I want to learn about design and achieve more than my current state. This course uncovered my true passion for drawing and designing. Hence, I did not wait for any longer. I am joining the full-time diploma full fledge starting October 2010 and definitely looking forward to it.”
Mohd Firdaus, Graphic Designer
Dynamic Sketching
Full-Time Diploma Program
“Dynamic Sketching course is definitely an eye opener for me. As a professional, we tend to miss and skip the basic steps which are actually very important when you build a complex object. As a 3D modeler, I am required to build a 3D object based on the concept design. I find the course is helping me in terms of knowing the fundamentals that I didn’t even notice before. Kudos to Tze Wei for being such a patient instructor!”
Daniel Choo, 3D Modeller of Zealot Digital
Dynamic Sketching
“Going through the course makes me go back to the fundamentals of drawing and painting using simply Wacom tablet and Photoshop. I learnt a lot from the lectures given by Feng Zhu during the class. It made me brush up my skills and made my work process more efficient. If given the time and opportunity, I will definitely consider taking the full-time Diploma course. Thank you Feng for the great lessons!”
David Tan, Lecturer of School of Design, Singapore Polytechnic
Digital Painting
“My job scope requires a lot of visualization to make a drawing alive. Concept Drawing helps me to be more efficient and focus with my design. I just realized that if I have a visual library all this time, I could have done more. The techniques that Kingston taught us is really useful and sped up the whole process. Now I am able to minimize the time to produce a design and of course it still turns out to be nicer.”
Chong En Di, Architect Visualizer of VisualMediaWorks
Concept Drawing
“The course is definitely a whole new learning experience for me. Kingston shared with us about his experience as well as his scientific knowledge which is indeed very impressive. I realized that by explaining it to us scientifically, I seem to absorb better compared to some lecturers who explained it to us by "feel". In addition, his knowledge in both 3D and 2D definitely helped the 3D modeler like me understand the whole process better. During the course, we are encouraged to solve problems using our design, which is actually the most important point that most aspiring designers often miss out. Thank you Kingston and FZD School!”
Sam Fernanders, Full-Time Intern at VHQ
Concept Drawing
“The course is great and a positive learning experience for me. The tips and tricks from Tze Wei are really helpful in doing my work. I am able to construct a 3D object more accurately based on the perspectives. Overall, the fundamentals that we learn from the course are applicable to any design professional regardless of your industry.”
Aaron Lin, Lead 3D Modeller of Zealot Digital
Dynamic Sketching
“Initially, my main intention to join the course was to learn how to use Wacom tablet for my work. However, it turned out beyond my expectation. Now I know how to apply the skills that I learned from the course using Wacom tablet, which is definitely faster than traditional method. At the same time, I get to refine my fundamentals of design that I tend to ignore when designing. In conclusion, the course is an interesting experience, not to mention the helpful instructor, Tze Wei, who makes the whole process much easier.”
