Introduction

Our October 2nd 2009 article featured Graham Perkins of Rune Entertainment and the discussions we had about the job opportunities. Together with FZD School of Design’s Founder – Feng Zhu, they shared their insight on what is required to secure a position in the Entertainment Industry. Among the many topics addressed, both speakers expressed the importance of a professional portfolio. Not just any portfolio, but a portfolio that consist of creative and diverse conceptual work that show that you are a designer. -View it here-

We will in time reveal many other recommendations that were made at this event. For now we will showcase our Founder – Feng Zhu's portfolio and some of our students' design work as an example.

At the end of the presentation, our July in-take students explained to the public about their school life at FZD School of Design. They talked about the study environment, class modules, process of research and the development of their assignments.

The students had just completed their First Term of intensive foundation training. The First Term covered modules such as Perspective, Production Sketching, Digital Painting and Design I. Below are examples of some Vehicle Designs by our students for the Entertainment Design Class:

Here is another example of a Production Sketching Project by our students:

Students at FZD School focus on design and other related aspects such as composition to properly showcase their work.

Visitors had a great time with the students during the “Q & A” session where they had the chance to understand how FZD School trains students from learning to design to preparing their portfolio.

This event was a great turnout and FZD School of Design will continue to host professional events and/or gallery for both our students and the public.
