Introduction

Working in the entertainment industry today provides us with one of the most interesting workspaces in any job today. It is no different here in FZD School of Design.
This week, I would like to share with you, some pictures I have taken of the creative team’s individual workspaces.

Skan

1. Hobby Japan Magazines.
2. Portable Hard-disk to hold all his references.
3. Desktop featuring designs by Famed Designer Syd Mead.
4. Skan’s toys and model kits.

Skan’s Desk is dominated by his love for Model Kits and all things robotic. From his beloved Gundam plastic models to his monthly subscribtion of Hobby Japan, nothing inspires Skan more than looking at mechanical designs.

Lisa

1. Tasty morning caffeine induced beverage to start the day.
2. A comfy pillow for those long hours of typing and sitting at the desk.
3. Headphones that are playing her favorite Disney theme songs.
4. Lisa’s inspirational bobblehead.

From her kung-fu panda coaster to her playstation merchandise, Lisa’s desk reflects her diverse interests in the entertainment industry. So don’t think that there are no girls that like this industry! :)

Tze Wei

1. The indispensible Playstation Portable.
2. Tea pot set. Because Tze Wei loves green tea.
3. Post-it notes to keep check of impending deadlines.
4. A handy jacket for those days when the air conditioning here goes berserk.

Tze Wei starts the day with a nice soothing cup of green tea, and ends the day by relaxing with a game or two on his PSP - being the gamer he is, Tze Wei always keeps his PSP close by. :p

Kingston

1. Kingston’s toys, which include his boyhood hero, Saint Seiya.
2. Super cool and intricate motorcycle miniatures.
3. Top secret sketches from top secret projects.;)
4. Reference books and research material for that top secret project.

Nothing appeals to Kingston more than the real world. Believing that everything we see can be a source of inspiration, Kingston like to fill his desk with real world miniatures and reference books.

Feng

Unfortunately, I can’t show what Feng’s desk at FZD currently looks like; He’s working on all these super secret projects, so its all hush hush over there. However, I can show you an older picture of his desk when he was working at Blur Studios!

1. Flowers!? To liven up and freshen the work place of course! :p
2. Mobile phone to stay connected to the outside world...
3. Stationary. Back when Feng was still hardcore using traditional media.
4. Wall of inspiration... ‘nuff said.

Closing

Hopefully everybody has enjoyed that litle peek into a part of FZD’s office. Stay tuned as we continue to look more into the life of an entertainment designer in days to come.
