A: Each class (or per-term intake) has a maximum of 25 students. This allows our Art Directors to focus fully on every individual.

A: Feng teaches many of the core fundamental classes at FZD such as production sketching and digital painting.
Q: How much is the course fee?

Q: What level of skill does FZD admission expects an applicant to be?
A: In general FZD admission will focus more on the applicant’s interest in the entertainment industry versus the drawing skills. However having some knowledge and experience in
drawing will benefit those who enroll in our program.
Q: What should I include in the entrance portfolio?
A: The goal of the entrance portfolio is to show your interest in design. This can be in the form of sketches, drawings, written ideas, notes, etc. Quality is not the key focus at this point. FZD School of Design admissions department is looking for your problem solving abilities and “thinking on paper” skills. It helps to have some drawing capabilities, but that it is not a guarantee for success in the design industry.
Q: What if I can’t draw at all?
A: Having a strong drawing background definitely helps, but it is not an entrance requirement at our school. We’ve had students who didn’t draw much at all before enrolling at FZD, but graduated with high-quality portfolios. You can take a look at some before and after examples on this page.

Q: What qualification will I attain upon graduation from FZD School of Design?
A: Students graduating from our 1 year program will receive a Diploma Certificate in Industrial Design. All our programs are registered with Council of Private Education (CPE).
Nevertheless, do keep in mind that the most important qualification in our industry is your portfolio. Without it, no resumes, diplomas, degrees, etc. would even matter.
Q: Does FZD offer internships with design studios?
A: Our 1 year diploma program is fully loaded and does not allow for internships. However, FZD works very closely with many top entertainment and design studios around the world.
In fact, a major portion of FZD student’s assignments are tied to real-world projects. As a result, all FZD students will have industry experience by the time they graduate. This is much
stronger than selective individual internships.
Q: Does the School assist the students in finding jobs upon graduation?
A: Once you are a FZD student, you will always be part of our family. Our assistance to you does not simply end upon graduation but will continue throughout your career. We
provide all FZD alumni with up-to-date industry job openings and information.
Below are some key factors FZD provides for its students:
1. Prior to graduation, our students have already been exposed to industry professionals and studios via real-world projects. This exposure opens up many doors for job opportunities;
especially for students with strong work ethics.
2. FZD is closely tied to many top entertainment and design studios around the world. We have connections to numerous art directors, creative directors and recruiters. In our
industry, one of the best ways to get a job is by “who you know.” And at FZD, we know a lot of people! Students will benefit directly from our associations.
3. FZD is also closely tied to many media sources such as television, design events, magazines and newspapers. Students with good portfolios will be featured in many of these
outlets – exposing them to potential employers.
4. Our term-end graduation show is not just a gallery viewing. On our guest list are top studio recruiters from both Singapore and surrounding countries. In addition, we will have
major press coverage during this event. An opportunity like this is not easy to come by, especially for our local Singaporean students. This is their time to shine in the spotlight!
5. FZD supports an internal job listing board. FZD Alumni can always access this list at anytime throughout their career.
Q: How well are the FZD graduates doing in terms of job placement?
A: It will depend on how well the student performs in our program. In addition to a good portfolio, one needs great work ethics and professionalism to secure a job in the entertainment design industry. As of 2011, 84% of FZD’s graduates have secured jobs within the design industry.
